Daily Duties at Kindred Hospital:

•Performed head to toe observations within a complex patient population. •Communicated with physicians, ARNP’s, Respiratory Therapists, and Registered Nurses daily regarding patient care needs and treatment plans. •Participated in codes and rapid response situations. •Monitored changes in patient condition and performed nursing interventions necessary to correct them. •Experienced in all aspects of nursing care ranging from medication management to complex wound care. •Administered medications via PEG, Nasogastric, Jejunum, and Gastric tubes. •Supervised Nursing Assistants in the performance of their duties. •Management of chest tubes, wound vacs, JP drains, and nephrostomies. •Experienced with administration of multiple IV antibiotics, TPN, PPN, lipids, and assisted with blood transfusions. •Insertion of Foley catheters, straight catheters, and bladder scans. •Assessed, interpreted, and obtained orders for appropriate lab tests. •Responsible for drawing lab specimens and blood cultures to detect the presence of infectious organisms. •Administered educational reinforcement to prepare patient's for discharge to include medication management, treatments, wound care, and family teaching. •Provided comfort care for terminally ill patients and families. •Received several Service Excellence awards and patient family recognitions for going above and beyond in my nursing responsibilities.
