Daily Duties at Drs Technologies Inc.:

When not traveling around the world as a Senior Field Engineer, I was designated as depot electronic system subject matter expert and was required to transition to new technologies almost daily in order to help the company reduce its depot repair backlog. Example: I learned how to use the Windows-based module repair program known as Protrack within 1 hour and successfully used it to record circuit card signatures and evaluate a bad circuit card from an obsolete Mk52 radar system owned by the Mexican Navy. Through attention to detail and the use of this program, I was able to identify the failures as three broken solder runs inside the CCA. The card was subsequently repaired and returned to the Mexican Navy within 32 hours. As project manager for foreign military sales combat system overhauls, I used my cost estimating skills to contribute to the acquisition of $12 million in FMS electronics systems overhaul contracts over a 2 year period. As functional depot repair manager, I supervised the building of three new test fixtures and established new testing procedures for high voltage power supplies, reducing turn around time by 50%. While temporarily assigned as a functional production manager at DRS's Laurel Technologies business unit in Johnstown, PA. for one month, I assisted in the assembly and production testing of over 30 new Q70 Combat System Consoles prior to their release to the USN and achieved 100% compliance with ISO-9001. As a functional quality manager, I developed PMS procedures and an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) for the USN (CVN) Electronic Chart Table, allowing the USN to accelerate the install of this new technology. As a Senior Field Engineer, I led a four man team to Germany & France to provide software upgrades to both nation's Cobra anti-missile defense systems. As depot project manager, I was given the job of putting the USN Virginia Class Submarine Fleet safely back into the water. Without usable radar repeaters, every submarine risked collision while transitting into and out of port during bad weather conditions. Through outstanding research, technical knowledge, and dedication, I personally repaired all 85 repeaters and set new procedures in place for luminescence testing of the repaired TFT displays still in use today.
