Daily Duties at Davis Vision:
Scripted, scheduled, and monitored different types of database backups and refreshes in use, including streaming backups and use of LUN mounts in SnapManager. Used Quest Spotlight and Confio Ignite monitoring tools to assess various aspects of system performance on numerous SQL Server instances. Used Sagent ETL applications to create base views and metaviews, and automate ETL processes from DB2 source environments to SQL Server destinations. Supervised code review of scripts and SSIS packages (2005, 2008) or DTS packages (2000) with developers. Advised developers in code optimization. Approved and ran scripts for Quality Assurance and Production releases. Diagnosed job errors and implemented solutions or worked with developers and/or Server Administration as necessary to solve break/fix and other issues.
