Daily Duties at Conde Nast:

Promoted to the new remote Shared Services Center, High Level Responsibilities: 1. For entirety of all the outsourced mainframe operations including third party technology, operations, and support. 2. For the main legacy Cobol business application plus other third party services. 3. Leading a team that built an internet advertising operations and business application leveraging a PeopleSoft ERP footprint and Google (formerly DART) API accessed processes. 4. Research the sun setting and re-platforming for the legacy mainframe Cobol application. 5. Implement recommended replacement for legacy mainframe Cobol application. 6. Decommission legacy mainframe application and third party products and services. Specific Experiences Delivered: Understanding of the key financial drivers and dynamics of the business, organized and chaired seminars of key user and technology teams to review and recommend policy and process changes. Demonstrated empathy and support of a majority of new users in implementing new operations. Executed corporate relationship management with multiple outsource and financial institutions. Led multiple project teams through all phases and standard project life cycle protocols. Negotiated technical modifications with outsource and financial institutions. Closely coordinated with IS&T product managers in other areas of our business as required. Proactively developed thoughtful error mitigation and reconciliation tools for end users (created by financial institution). Developed strategy documents for executive management. Led a team of consultants and in house staff in the research, planning, design and implementation of a new internet advertising & operational business application using the existing Peoplesoft ERP footprint and Google (formally DART) API accessed processes. Assessed and remediated multiple risk mitigation events during a very fast project lifecycle. Led a team in the research and recommendation to re-platform the existing legacy mainframe Cobol application. Drafted the original multi-phase project plan for the re-platforming and the legacy mainframe application. Maintained and managed the conversion program process and schedule, reflecting Work Breakdown Structures, dependencies, key milestones, critical path, risk mitigation, evolving challenges, and end user needs. Acted as the SME for the mainframe systems operations and legacy Cobol application in the re-platforming to the new ERP environment. Decommissioned the legacy mainframe and created multiple intuitive archive solutions for both end users and technical support staff.
