Daily Duties at Internal Medicine & Cardiology Assoc. Of Sene :
Data Entry Medical coding for patients demographics Compile statements for mailing Check daily encounter forms for demographic errors Work on collections of outstanding balances Explain information to the pt. or family (HIPPA Complaint) regarding questions about outstanding balances or insurance information. Post payments and credits to patient accounts Verify insurance eligibility Prepare daily deposit Handle calls pertaining to patient and insurance questions Communicate problems/concerns with the supervisor Help Registration when short staffed Help train new employees with different policies and procedures Work with Medi Sense software program Run A/R reports review and work claims over 30 days. Follows up on denied claims, contact insurances regarding claims status or follow up on a previous call made. Write appeal letters as necessary. Review medical charts for diagnosis & procedure codes (if the information is not listed on the encounter form). Work with the phys & nursing staff with questions regarding pts diagnosis/procedures.
