• Develop Backscatter Selective Detection Radiography (SDR), and Microfocus Radiographic X-Ray techniques to determine flight worthiness of aerospace components for US Space Shuttle’s External Tank Program. Interpret NDE results of flight critical hardware. • Develop method to determine signal to noise for Backscatter and Terahertz images. Method was utilized to characterize interpreter’s ability to visually resolve and measure flaws for probability of detection study for verification of new NDE test methods as required by NASA. • Contribute to the Development of a method to obtain Modular Transfer Function and Topometrix images for Backscatter and Terahertz NDE. • Test image analysis software and provide feedback to software engineers for software enhancement and debugging. Efforts lead to the successful development of an image processing software package utilized by NASA to resolve Terahertz and SDR data. • Maintain X-Ray database to track test article attributes, test methodologies, NDE techniques, and findings. • Develop practices for Eddy Current Testing of flight critical hardware. • Supervise Level I and II X-Ray and Terahertz technicians in NDE Special Projects, and laboratory testing of flight critical hardware to resolve In Flight Anomalies. Interpret and report NDE findings for In-Flight Anomalies. • Conduct Computer Tomography of polyurethane - polyisocyanurate cellular solids and compare results to SEM images for statistical analysis of bondline adhesion. Interpret CT images of ET thermal protection system.
