Daily Duties at Rcr Builders:
Business development, quantity take-offs, develop bidders list, field questions from bidders, receive response from architects, redistribute answers to bidders, receive bids and evaluate, determine lowest qualified bid and use in bid summary, negotiate contract amounts and write contract and purchase orders, develop change order when necessary. I was the lead estimator over a department that fluctuated from three to four people. I was responsible for scheduling work load depending on bid schedule, overseeing bidders lists and take-offs, getting summary sheet ready for bid day, taking, qualifying and evaluating bids and/or proposals. Used table digitizer with Bidpoint to input quantities directly into Excel estimate form. Worked with IT personnel to setup and use automated bid invitation process to notify bidders of up coming project bids. Increased total volume approximately $25 million the first year to about $85 million.
