Daily Duties at Va Medical Center:

Study Coordinator for two Dartmouth- affiliated multi-site collaborative studies, "Double Blind, Randomized, Placebo Controlled Study of Ganaxolone in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder" and "Randomized Controlled Trial of Galantamine Methylphenidate, and Placebo Treatment of Cognitive Symptoms in Patients with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder". Collaborated with Dartmouth Hitchcock, as well as peers at White River Junction VA Medical Center, Togas VA Medical Center, Duke (Durham VA Medical Center), Cincinnati VA Medical Center, and Puget Sound VA Medical Center, in addition to the Manchester Research team. Prioritizes problems, collects data, enters collected data in the computer, works with the Principal Investigator and team on various issues of the study, as well as reports any significant data. Manages the day to day conduct of the trials. Ensures proper gathering of medical information, vital signs, and the coordination of obtaining laboratory specimens and medical testing as required by the studies. Obtains informed consent from subjects enrolled into the Research studies. Serves as a resource to research subjects at any point during their participation, as well as any time after the study has ended. Assists the Administrator Officer in preparing IRB and R&D submissions, and maintains regulatory documentation. Serves as a liaison with the Intrust Consortium, including the Lead Sites, Lead Study Coordinator, (Durham VA), and the Coordinating Center. Participates in trial-related meetings, trainings, and conference calls. Is self-directed to learn study protocols and carries out the study protocols. Treats each research subject in a courteous manner with dignity, compassion, and respect. Fosters an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and trust to ensure the overall research experience is positive for the enrolled subjects. In August of 2011, began working two days a week in the Medical Specialty Service, in addition to working as a Research Study Coordinator.
