Daily Duties at Va Medical Center:

Worked with Dr. Laurel Radwin, Ph.D., Research Nurse, as part of the VISN 1 Research Enhancement initiative for Research in Nursing. The focus was on Evidence Based Practice and a quality improvement project or Research.Worked in a variety of areas performing whatever efforts were needed to implement this grant funded by VISN 1. In addition to performing Research responsibilities, worked as a Staff Nurse 2 days a week in the Medical Specialty Clinic working with the Pulmonologist overseeing and assessing patient care prior to their outpatient clinic visits. Worked with the veterans to coordinate their care, identify goals, prioritize problems, and meet their needs, in addition to answering their questions, and assisting with prescription renewals. Worked overseeing the scheduling of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Consults were done in a timely manner. Served as a member on the Research and Development committee and has been an active and regular participant in monthly meetings serving as a resource in recognizing important practical and ethical matters in the treatment of research participants.
