Worked remotely to help construct a novel universal medical terminology database for electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems to serve 2500+ hospitals. Helped construct a novel, universal, medical terminology database for electronic medical record systems for 2500+ hospitals. Served as subject matter expert for radiology, surgery, microbiology, anatomic pathology, cytology, blood, and laboratory domains. Helped unify the processes underlying Meditech using SNOMED concept coding, clinical knowledge, medical terminology. Increased processing efficiency 20-fold during this temporary consultant assignment. Gained familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, CPT codes, SNOMED-CT, SQL, Meditech, teleconference, and proprietary software. Reported directly to Senior Clinical Terminologist and Director of Clinical Team. Served as medical terminology expert to help build a novel, concept based, electronic medical record database for 2500+ hospitals through a Meditech migration process. This facilitates physician order entry into structured data fields for improved meaningful use, reimbursements, collections, and streamlining multi-centered research trials. Kept up to date with changes in procedures, radiology, microbiology, laboratory and pathology. I researched any terms I did not know to thoroughly understand nuances before migrating and mapping terms to SnoMed and CPT codes. Escalating ideas for handling novel situations such as arrayed lab tests and for automating procedures on unpaired body structures. I increased their overall processing efficiency by 20-fold in one week.
