Daily Duties at Magellen Behavioral Health:
Duties included diagnosis assessment and providing counseling services to USPS employees seeking help for a variety of complex work and personal issues. Crises intervention services were provided in situations involving critical incidents and/or emergencies. This typical involved assessment of emergency situations, formulation and provision of needed treatment in a acute crisis situation. Psycho education and referral for any and all needed resources was provided. Position also involved psycho education to large groups of new employees as well as employees at various postal sites Examples include- assessment of USPS employee re. potential for risk of harm to self or others;conflict between employees/ management; and one Critical Incident where Employee committed suicide at work site and I was requested to provide services/support to family-I was one of first staff to meet w/ family.. Program and organization analysis was required in an effort to identify program efficiency and recommendations for improvement in areas affecting service delivery.
