Working in conjunction with the County's Board of Chosen Freeholders, I assisted in the balancing of an annual $2.5MM budget dedicated to promoting tourism and cultural activities to the residents of Burlington County. Announced and analyzed RFPs and conducted contract negotiations with vendors, security services, facilities and township personnel throughout the County. Maintained the Summer Concert Series for the County Amphitheater assembling entertainment, technical and sound engineers and coordinated programming with local nonprofit organizations. Recruited exhibitors, vendors, venues, volunteers and entertainment for annual festivals, art exhibits and conservation and preservation projects and fundraisers. Published The County Bell, a quarterly newsletter that went to County Residents to promote attendance to events and festivals. Coordinated media announcements and press releases to promote events in surrounding counties.
What they like about Division Of Cultural Affairs And Tourism:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
