Responsible for setting up a family care clinic in Lavaca, Arkansas. I worked with Lavaca Mayor, Mayor Hardgrave and Lavaca school superintendent, Jared Cleveland to establish a clinic within the Lavaca School campus. I worked with Superintendent Cleveland and the Governor Beebe office to secure grants to establish a "Wellness Center". The 550,000 grant was awarded, along with Dr. Sanders, Mr. Broniste (Advanced Nurse Practitioner), Dr. Friddle, and Dr. Cheng; the Lavaca Wellness Center was opened on 02/16/2011 and serves over 6,000 patients. Responsible for hiring clerical staff for Schmitz Family Practice. I meet with Dr. Schmitz on a daily basis and set up interviews for an office manager, billing clerks, insurance clerks, and front desk receptionists. We were able to hire quality customer service oriented staff Provide expertise and leadership in formulating short term and long term fiscal and operational goals, I meet with Dr. Schmitz and Dr. Sanders to develop a feasible annual operational budget and capital budget for the Schmitz Family Practice and the Lavaca Wellness Center. I met with the individual physicians twice a month on the budget process. Since both facility is new and there are no historical budget, we formulated a annual operational budget and annual capital budget based on similar facilities within the surrounding areas with each physician past practice patient load. We were able to complete an annual operational and capital budget with single digit margin of error (profit/loss). Responsible for recommending a Electronic Medical Records (EMR) hardware and software system to be implemented at Schmitz Family Practice. I met with several Clinic EMR companies such as; KAREO, EClinical Works, AthenaClinicals, and Practice Fusion. I summarized all of the companies advantages and disadvantages, clinical applications, billing capabilities, user friendly, support service, and cost. Responsible for equipment purchase for Schmitz Family Practice. I worked with several medical equipment suppliers. I was able to secure competitive prices with a local vendor, Smith Medical Equipment Incorporated in Fort Smith. I purchased medical equipment ( telemetry machine, exam room furniture, office furniture, clinic lobby furniture, and other clinic supplies under the estimated capital budget projection.
