Daily Duties at Esterline Engineered Materials Kirkhill Elastomers:

I was the kaizen team leader for a business unit of 350 direct labor employees. I led the process mapping for all seven of aircraft seals product lines. In that role, I identifed opportunities to remove waste and cost from existing process methods by documenting standardized work to give each operator in the process flow equal time to help build the product more smoothly timed to the pace at which the customer needed the product. I implemented visual management methods to make more visible the targeted rate at which production should run compared to how they were actually running in real time.Success was measured in reduced lead time (the time unfinished material spends within our factory walls), reduced cycle time for piece (reduced labor cost per unit output), reduced factory footprint (allows growth without needing new buildings), and reduced product travel distance (a measure roughly equivalent to reduced waste).

What they like about Esterline Engineered Materials Kirkhill Elastomers:

You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
