Daily Duties at National Semiconductor:

Lotus Notes/Email Administrator Creating new user ids in Notes and Office Vision system, assigning disk space, developing Lotus Notes databases, upgrading PCs, creating web sites using HTML, troubleshooting SMTP, Internet mail, CC:Mail, PC/TCP configuration, Office Vision as well as all Notes related problems. • Minimum 15 calls were coming on various Lotus Notes installation, upgrade and configuration problems daily. Each call took approximately 20 minutes. • Developed a database in Lotus Notes with full instructions and configuration screens and put it on to the server. This reduced the call volume from 15 calls to 5 calls and improved customer service. Network Support Specialist 1992 - 1994 Received telephone calls on hardware, software, SNA and Ethernet problems. Determined cause of problems and resolved them. Hardware problems included: LAN, WAN, controllers, lines, routers, terminals and printer problems. Software problems included: file transfer using FTP, resetting VM and MVS passwords, resetting hung user ids through SNA and Ethernet connecting on VM systems as well as VAX systems, Gatekeeper, SMTP software issues. • Approximately 6000 calls coming to Corporate Help desk with various problems. Took initiative and suggested an alternative to the upper management of menu driven system on mainline extension. It directed the calls to the responsible parties and response time increased from 24 hours to live person on the line and improved customer expectations. End User Support Specialist 1990 - 1992 Designed and developed various business applications utilizing Lotus spreadsheets and PDS. Ran macros for DOS as well as Windows in spreadsheets, installed software and created batch files.
