Daily Duties at Illinois Department Of Corrections:

• level 3 High Medium-Security Adult Male facility • handled all personnel matters for the programming division • report to Chief Administrative Officer and Deputy Director as needed • works daily with organized labor to solve ongoing issues • review and propose change (if necessary) of all administrative rules, regulations, directives, policies, and • procedures governing employees and offenders to ensure compliance with state and federal laws • direct, coordinate, and review overall operations, programs, and activities of the facility • direct pivotal employees in assigned areas to ensure efficient operation of the facility • apply preventive security measures by enforcing policies and procedures to avoid potentially threatening issues • direct and evaluate program aspects of the facility, i.e. health care, education, and record office • maintain programs to enhance the success of offenders’ reentry to society, planned and implemented a • transitional wing to aid offenders in this transition • manages and maintains the facility fleet operation on behalf of the Warden • plan and direct the facility budget, review, and implement fiscal responsibility of expenditures and resources • supervise staff, assign duties, approve time off, complete performance evaluations • ensure compliance with labor contracts, schedule, hear and resolve labor disputes • monitors the facility’s healthcare contract to ensure compliance • schedule and conduct staff meetings • direct and supervise the Substance Abuse program • direct and supervise the Sexually Dangerous Person program
