Daily Duties at Irmi:

Management of annual conferences with 500-1700 registered attendees with numerous sponsored events. Accomplishments included:  Financially favorable contract negotiations with hotels, audio visual companies, printers, production, destination management and security firms, temporary agencies, transportation companies, travel agencies…to name a few.  Budget (3-6M) development and management.  Sponsor coordination to meet contract agreements.  Speaker management involved with pre-planning and onsite.  Management of all aspects of events onsite; coordination of internal resources to support events.  Daily use of USI event management system to process attendee registrations and fees.  Established RFP process, sourcing and site inspections for future conference venues.  Metrics/goals always met in regard to event budgets, revenue, new prospect leads and customer satisfaction.

Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
