Nice Pak / Pdi Work Values

Daily Duties at Nice Pak / Pdi:

Received samples and record all testing data into the LIMS system. We were a completely paperless laboratory. All samples were labeled with stickers that the LIMS system generated. Performed microbial limit testing, identifications, bioburden, water, and environmental testing. An average of 150 samples was setup up daily for testing. Microbial limits testing used dilution and stomaching methods. Identifications were performed using a chemical based/phenotypic identification system. Bioburdens and water samples were tested by vacuum filtration method. Environmental samples were collected by either SAS air sampler or contact plates. Prepared media and performed growth promotions. Each lot of media that was either prepared or received was growth promoted prior to use. Media results were logged into the LIMS system. Maintained laboratory records (i.e. temperatures, instrument cleanings). Temperatures were monitored using programmable digital recorders. The recorders were checked daily for alarms that indicated incubators or refrigerators went out of range. Out of range units had the temperature adjusted. Weekly all the recorders were recalibrated. Weekly all waterbaths, incubators and refrigerators were cleaned and sanitized accountability records were signed when completed.
