Daily Duties at Belk:
Direct the daily activities of the Transportation area. Negotiate freight agreements to reduce freight expense and improve service levels. Partner with merchants to ensure on-time delivery of merchandise in order to get maximum sales time and margins. Stay abreast of domestic and international market trends. Educate the merchant organization on key transportation initiatives to reduce landed cost of merchandise while hitting desired delivery windows.
