Daily Duties at Northeastern Conference:

When I was hired to work for the Northeastern Conference, my main responsibility as treasurer was to provide financial leadership including, but not limited to, receiving, safeguarding and disbursing all funds in harmony with actions of the Board of Directors, providing financial information to the President and to the Board of Directors to ensure optimal performance of such office. I had bi-weekly meetings with the administrative staff to discuss emerging issues, hiring recommendations to the Board and an update on the company's financial position. Subsequently I became more involved in managing day to day accounting activities, including billing, accounts payable, cash disbursements and cash receipts; ensured compliance with organizational policies. This was due to downsizing of the assistant treasurer position. I was asked to be involved in Trusts and Estate Planning. We did workshops for members and interested community member to educate them in will planning. In doing their wills, the organization will also benefit financially from amounts bequeathed to them. I was asked to handle all the Real Estate transactions of the organization, whereby I was involved with all purchases and leases of land, property and equipment. What they like about Northeastern Conference:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
