Daily Duties at Children's Hospital Of Orange County:

Oncology Nurse -sole RN assigned to be responsible for newly diagnosed children with cancer until were discharged from the Oncology Intensive Care Unit. Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse by managing the core responsibilities of a critically ill child who has aquired cancer and also with the team of other health care providers, helped to deliver quality care during Bone Marrow Transplant. Educated the family about the procedure. Delivered Chemotherapy, Blood Products, powerfully strong antibiotics, and TPN. Monitored the child while on telemetry. Used Nursing skills of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of a critically ill child. Heme-Onc under close supervision and control, serves as a novice registered nurse, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Collaborates with other healthcare team members in the delivery of care to patients requiring BMT services. Conducts patient assessment, participates in the development of care. Implements and evaluates care according to patient age and/or developmental needs. Consistently demonstrates commitment to Family-Centered Care Model of care.
