Daily Duties at Energy Northwest A.K.A Washington Public Power Supply System:

Chief fire officer provided direct supervision of thirteen personnel and indirect supervision of an additional 95. Assumed incident command safety officer position during emergency events. Coordinated and performed fire inspections. Inspections were conducted under the requirements of the Uniform Fire Code, NFPA 1 – Fire Code, and applicable Washington State building codes. Updated and created fire protection procedures, surveillances, periodic maintenance plans. Updated and created pre-fire plans. Coordinated and supervised surveillance testing of fire protection systems and equipment. Coordinated live fire training and responsible for the proper implementation of the fire, rescue, hazardous materials and emergency medical programs including training. Issued and monitored fire permits. Prepared, planned, and scheduled fire protection work and surveillances. Observed and critiqued fire, rescue, hazardous materials and medical drills. Maintained fire impairment, operations commodities, and fire brigade databases. Completed fire protection dispositions and corrective actions regarding issues captured in the CAP program. Liaison for mutual aid groups partnered with Columbia Generating Station.
