Daily Duties at Compass Group Usa Crothall Services Group:
Direct all aspects of the HR Department to ensure state, federal & company compliance; supervise a HR staff of 6 salaried associates & over 387 hourly associates on 3 shifts in 5 buildings; investigate and administer all employee relations issues and discipline; represent company in unemployment, grievance & arbitration cases; respond to any legal inquiries; interpret company policies & procedures and design and present strategic outlines to benefit company focus; prepare corrective action, facilitate involuntary terminations, lead monthly training with management staff on HR policies and procedures for performance improvements and department wide accountability; work closely with corporate HR consultants; manage daily operations of staffing to include weekly reporting of open positions with projected financial impact, approve background checks, wage & salary administration for both salaried & hourly associates; facilitate transition from Teamfin payroll system to Walter payroll system; ensure legal administration of benefits to include knowledge of workers’ compensation laws for SC & posting of all reports required by law; develop FMLA tracking system; train Benefits Coordinator to ensure compliance with federal laws; review and revise department generated tracking logs to meet requirements for Affirmative Action documentation; oversee employee personnel records to ensure legal compliance; company liaison between Crothall and leadership staff of MUSC; active member of Diversity Council of the Medical University of South Carolina.
