Daily Duties at Rodgers Welding Supply Inc.:

I was promoted to oversee a 3 man sales team to increase sales annually. I maintained my own territory till 2002 when I hired someone to allow me to move inside and better manage the sales team. I wanted to keep my feet in the fire for as long as I could. I would call on existing accounts, introduce them to any new products that would help them be more productive and profitable, I performed productivity audits to improve efficiency and productivity, I would negotiate product supply agreements for bulk gas delivery systems. I would hold weekly sales meetings, to discuss what the salesmen did the past week, what they had planned for the upcoming week and discuss any problems a customer was having to brainstorm and come up with a solution. Negotiated vendor contracts when due, learned how to hold the price or agree to a minimum price increase and terms. Coordinated vendor meetings and training of reps and inside sales team. When a vendor wanted to introduce a new product, I arranged a sales meeting for all outside and inside salesmen. We would also have the salesmen arrange to take the vendor out to as many customers a possible to introduce the new product. Provided sales support by doing research, calling in vendors to meet with customers, created an electronic quoting systems with our digitized logo on the quote format that ended up being so efficient that I was able to send a quote electronically while the sales rep was still in front of the customer. Thus enhancing our capabilities to our customers. convinced management to purchase a personal computer, created a template to match our current quote form with every welding machine for ease of re-quoting same machine. Had a digital image of our logo created for embroidery on shirts for branding, began to create an e-commerce catalog through Thomas Regional Directory, Handled all customer inquiries and issues.
