Daily Duties at Quintiles / Sanofi Cde Help Team:
Per week: Schedule at least 10 patient education sessions; educate an average of 30 patients, with a minimum 5 of these patients on Sanofi insulin. Focus on helping patients increase adherence to Sanofi insulin treatment thru training on the pen, vial and syringe, as well as basics of DSMT. Have meaningful clinical discussions with primary care providers (PCP) about the education sessions, including giving them feedback about patients' concerns and questions about their insulin treatment, problems with injection technique, and others that helped the PCP more effectively guide/treat patients toward mutually agreed upon health outcomes. Communicate with sales rep partners covering (initially the greater Baltimore territory, then temporarily to include Frederick, Hagerstown, Annapolis, then later, Delaware) daily or as needed by text or phone, and at least once weekly, thru a written update. The total number of pods I worked with averaged 7 or 8 during most of my 8 years with Quintiles. Participate in weekly conference calls with the Mid-Atlantic CDE Help Team. Provide feedback, specific suggestions, answers to questions about the service, our interactions with PCPs and staff, sales partners, and ways to improve the presentations as well as other processes. Helped with the orientation/on-boarding process of newly hired CDEs, as the need or their questions arise. Assisted with coverage in the Annapolis and Frederick territories as needed, including positively impacting access in 2 or 3 "difficult to reach" multi-provider practice. Participate in sales pod meetings / conference calls on a regular schedule. Participate in regional and national meetings, including launch of the Sanofi ibg* glucometer. Complete various required training sessions related to pharmaceutical / health care regulations and safe driving school such as code of ethics, anti-kickback regulations, adverse drug reaction reporting, HIPPAA, sunshine act, etc. Increase my skills set and knowledge base through continuing education activities and learning courses. Participate in the performance planning and assessment process through self assessment and working with manager. Meet or exceed other metrics as defined by the client (Sanofi). Entering data reflecting my work results in the database. Managing assigned budget, and completing accounting and required documentation for expenses. Maintain flexibility, and persistence. Obtain patient acknowledgement forms before each education session AND patient satisfaction surveys after each session from ALL patients.
