Daily Duties at Cygnus Microsystems:

Joined as software engineer and progressively scaled to R&D product manager. Role: 1996-99: Product Manager. The responsibilities included all aspects of product development from concept to delivery of the final product and final product to customer requested enhancements. Worked as hands on manager and provided the following individual Contribution. Also include motivate lead and manage members in the development team, Developed Network Voice and Data router • Designed the architecture to handle real time and non real time traffic. • Devised IPC between various sub-modules. • Developed a homegrown micro kernel. • Incorporated call switching mechanism PVC and SVC mechanisms, resources management. • Developed RIP protocol to identify low cost paths • Developed (home grown) RTOS. • Provided customer support and debugged • Tested the router under various topologies • Developed drivers for voice and network cards. • This product allowed us to build networks capable of sending voice and data together over networks spanned between cities and churned in lot of revenue to the company for few years. Jan'95 - April 96 Senior Engineer, Hyderabad INDIA Developed Voice and Data Router on leased lines • Developed IPC between the modules. • Developed a priority scheduler to send the packets for voice packets at a higher priority. • Developed Voice device driver for FXO/FXS/E&M capabilities for the audio-codes 4801 chip. Aug'93 - June'95 Senior Design Engineer, Hyderabad India Implemented X.25 PAD and X.25 SWITCH (embedded standalone product). Complete Ownership of the products from architecture, design, development to delivery. • Validated the implementation for protocol compliance and interoperability with ITU standards. This product elevated the company to join elite group of X.25 group product owners. • Obtained TEC certification for TEC • Lead the team to develop the complete protocol stack. • Developed networking packet layer protocol to support both permanent virtual circuits and switched virtual connections. August 1990 - December 1993 Design Engineer Hyderabad India • Developed LAPB protocol. • Developed a micro kernel to manage all the tasks including context switching. • Involved testing of the product. • Developed product diagnostics.
