Daily Duties at Auto Nation, Inc.:

Report directly to the Regional Vice President of Financial Operations, I am currently working with the Western Region dealerships on daily financial forecasting, revenue analysis which includes the identification of all revenue streams and their implecations to dealership success, monthly dealership expense reviews, and corporate financial compliance initiatives. I have also been selected to lead a team of five associates to set up the financial end of an internal vehicle detail operation, which services AutoNation owned dealerships in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Responsibilities, as they pertain to this expansion venture, include: Provide daily financial forecasts of end of month profitability for the auction and detail operations in California, Arizona, and Nevada to the Region Vice President of Finance. Oversee the bank reconciliation process of the Disbursement, Deposit, and Payroll bank accounts. Perform Balance Sheet analysis which includes the review of all intercompany receivables. An intercompany receivable includes all monies due to Prime Auto Resources for services provided to AutoNation dealerships for auction and/or wash & detail services. These accounts must be reviewed daily and reconciled at month end per Corporate requirements. Review and analyse all Income Statement accounts, which include Revenue, Cost of Sale, and Expense accounts for accuracy and any misclassifications. Misclassifications would include items posted to an incorrect account, for example, a rent expense posted to an outsides service expense account. If such misclassifications are found they must be corrected. Attend weekly conference calls with Regional Finance staff and Prime General Manager. Topics include monthend projections of revenue, general expense, and personnel compensation. These metrics are compared to the monthly financial budget, we constantly try to identify areas of opportunity in our business. Month end responsibilities include: The review and recording of all journal entries. These entries include expense accruals, payroll accruals, Corporate reclass entries for purposes of banking, asset depreciation and disposal as necessary, Intercompany balanceing (monies owed between entities), and the final production of the monthly Financial Statement for our Corporate headquarters. This Financial Statement provides for a detailed look at all revenue streams, expense account detail, and profit/loss. Month over month visability is also provided due to the way I designed the file.
