Manage a staff of Registered nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Certified Medication Aides, Certified Nurses Assistants, MDS Coordinator, Nurse Managers and Medical Records. Plan, organize, develop and direct overall operations of the nursing department in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations Coordinate with state surveyors and Ombudsman regarding resident care issues Ensure that all nursing staff are trained according to facility policy Responsible for the clinical outcome for this state of the art nursing facility Participate in local educational community activities regarding the health care of community members Assist in the creation of policies and procedures for facility Coordinates closely with local physicians in order to provide quality care to their residents Ensures nursing systems are in place and in compliance with state and federal regulations Schedules staffing to ensure that there is adequate staffing for the facility Educates staff regarding policies, regulations and patient care duties Performs routine audits of orders, charts, medication records and treatment records Resident and staff advocate Participates in total patient care Involved in preparing family members and residents for end of life Involved in admission and discharge processes Coordinates with local entities to assist in adequate resident care Leads Quality Assurance Meetings Leads Level of Care Meetings for Interdisciplinary Teams Oversees Incidents and Accidents System Oversees Infection Control System (includes trending and tracking infections) Oversees Pharmacy Systems Oversees the diets and weights of each individual resident Responsible for hiring of adequate staff members for the facility Supervises 50 Full Time Employees, 8 Part-time Employees
