Rocket Software Work Values

Daily Duties at Rocket Software:

Quality Assurance Team Leader, UniData and UniVerse database builder, UniData SQL tester, liaison to cross-functional groups, ClearCase administrator. As the QA Team Leader, I conducted regular Project Tracking meetings with upper management, project management, product marketing, customer support and my QA team. I tracked the current builds that had been done for each version of the products on every platform in the schedule. I created and moved Bug Issues through the cycle, assigning them to the appropriate engineers for doing fixes in their area of the product. I followed up to ensure that those fixes had been checkedin, and then built the subsequent version of the product for the next cycle of QA testing, typically on a daily basis. Providing quick turnaround of issues was a key factor to staying on schedule. Once I verified that all Bug and Enhancement issues for a release were complete, I Manufactured the database products on all Unix/Linux platforms, which were AIX, HP/UX, HP Itanium, SOLARISx86, SOLARIS 64-Bit, RedHat LINUX, SuSE LINUX. I created a PowerPoint presentation and sent to upper management for final approval of the release. Once the full release was approved, I sent out an official request to the QA engineer in charge of release distribution for each version/platform to be released, which contained all the release details to be published for the customers to see and then be able to select the version to download for their platform.
