Daily Duties at Sharp Health Care:

I managed the health care of females of all stages of life. I worked in a department with over 25 providers, both physicians and NP's. Worked independently as a sole NP and as a team member in a busy, fast paced, clinic. Able to multi-task. Managed both low and high risk pregnancies, such has hypertension and diabetes. Discussed patient issues with physicians when patient's medical needs were beyond my scope of practice. Referred patients to specialty departments when appropriate. Ordered labs and procedures and interpreted results. Under supervision of a physician, managed the stable phase of chronic illness. Antenatal testing performed on pregnant patients. Ultrasonography performed in early pregnancy to determine fetal number and viability. Basic ultrasonography performed on infertility patients. Performed well women's exams, which includes breast and pelvic exams, and pap smears. Educated women on procreative and pregnancy prevention. Inserted implantable birth control. Comfortable talking with patients who elect to terminate their pregnancy. Education discussed for menopausal women, discussing HRT. Experience with diagnosing and treating STI's.
