Charge/Intake Nurse • Promoted to Charge Nurse • Oversaw nursing operations of an acute behavioral health unit • Supervised staff and effectively delegated responsibilities to team members • Facilitated intake assessments, admissions and discharge planning • Maintained staffing to meet regulatory requirements and safety needs • Demonstrated knowledge and clinical expertise in 72 hour holds, 14 day holds, LPS conservatorship, Writ of Habeas Corpus, Reise and Certification hearings, medication consents, confidentiality, ECT process, Seclusion/restraint procedures and documentation • Collaborated with interdisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care • Obtained authorization for acute inpatient psychiatric hospitalization • Coordinated admission process with doctors • Created safe environment for patients and staff • Performed and oversaw chart audits Floor Nurse • Provided total care for patients in a 43-bed locked psychiatric unit • Documented psychiatric acuity • Initiated and updated care plans • Administered routine and emergency antipsychotic medications safely • Implemented infection control measures appropriately • Educated patients and families • Utilized Meditech and Care Fusion Pyxis to enter labs and dispense medications
