Daily Duties at Avi Food Systems :
iAs the Warehouse Manager I was responsible for 8 warehouse employees, the building, inventory and the money collected from the machines. I also accounted for a fleet of 10 vending trucks and their drivers. I ensured they kept their log books accurate, their time and attendance, turned in their money and performed regular truck maintenance. We kept inventory for over 500 machines. I placed inventory orders and approved the invoices. I was in charge of payroll, time and attendance of all the warehouse and the drivers. When I started, we were ranked 47 out of 48 branches. I re-structured our policies and procedures, implemented training programs and created incentive programs. The direct result of this was we upped our rank to #14. The morale improved dramatically and our day to day operations began to show very positive results. We would do cycle counts, fill orders , unload stock trucks and pack and load vending cold sandwiches. I established daily shift meetings and monthly safety and training meetings. We reduced overtime by at least 10- 12 man hours per week. I worked for the Branch Manager and interacted with several vendors, drivers and warehouse employees, along with the accounting people at the corporate office. I traveled on business meetings 1-3 times during the year.
What they like about Avi Food Systems :
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
