Daily Duties at American Career College:

Clinical Educator for Pediatric rotation Term IV students Clinical Instruction: 1. Clarifies clinical expectations with students 2. Clarifies student placement and expectations with clinical facility staff. 3. Utilizes care planning time to direct students to available resou4ces needed for clinical facility staff 4. Assesses student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and optimal care to patients 5. Coordinates a plan to best instruct, observe, and evaluate students learning and clinical practical skills which includes direct clinical assessment of skills in applicable setting for related area of instruction 6. Utilizes pre and post conference to allow students an opportunity to share learned experiences 7. Correlates weekly theory content with clinical objectives and experiences 8. Corrects students nursing care plans and returns weekly 9. Provides feedback of clinical performance immediately after observation of event and, of overall performance at med term and end of semester. 10. Provides continual and immediate feedback to students in a private setting 11. Identifies verbal and nonverbal behaviors indicative of the need for student counsel. 12. Encourages the student to use problem solving techniques 13. Establishes/maintains office hours or appointments at times accessible to students 14. Monitors and records daily class attendance and grades according to established procedures and deadlines 15. Establishes and maintains communication lines between the clinical facilities and staff and ACC. a. Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student objectives in each clinical area b. Works with clinical affiliate staff to clarify policies and procedure specific to facility c. Validates with clinical affiliate staff the effectiveness of student placement and progress in meeting mutually established objectives d. Attends advisory meeting.
