Daily Duties at Safeway Pharmacy :

Hiring, training, implementing new ideas for growth, problem solver, prevents problems before they arise, getting rx's out quickly and accurately, improving quality,head of all projects executed.Earned numerous promotions during 18-year tenure, ultimately leading to current responsibility of managing pharmacy functions and supervising a team of seven pharmacy technicians. This includes the process of hiring, supervising, training, and disciplining pharmacy technicians, while ensuring the highest levels of service and working efficiency. • Oversees day-to-day operations of the prescription fulfillment process to include interpreting, verifying, inputting, and tracking of more than 2,800 prescriptions weekly. • Plays major role in billing and reimbursement process, which includes maintaining detailed records, ensuring accuracy of data, resolving discrepancies, coding and posting claims, and communicating with insurance providers. • Conducts interviews and hires qualified pharmacy technicians; and provides technicians with proper guidance, direction and training on a variety of processes to ensure staff follow established procedures. • Monitors work performance of pharmacy technicians and disciplines staff when necessary to ensure quality and professional standards are met on a consistent basis. • Coordinates employee absences and schedules coverage to ensure department is staffed appropriately in order to maintain operating efficiency and timely completion of pharmacy tasks. • Manages all aspects of the pharmacy’s computer system to include accurate and timely order entry, billing, reimbursements, crediting, and updating activities. • Maintains accurate database of files related to patient records, dosing information, and directions for use.
