Trained, managed and lead a group of 3 consisting of 1 postdoctoral fellow, 1 masters student and 1 research technician. Focused on Williams syndrome, a genetic disorder caused due to microdeletions of DNA along human chromosome 7. Responsibilities: Trained, managed and lead a group of 3 consisting of 1 postdoctoral fellow, 1 masters student and 1 research technician. Focused on Williams syndrome, a genetic disorder caused due to microdeletions of DNA along human chromosome 7. Developed DNA microarray for detailed dissection of the Williams syndrome region along chromosome 7 and performed genotype-phenotype correlations using a panel of Williams syndrome patients with a spectrum of phenotype. As a result we identified deletion of markers upstream of Elastin which were not known previously. This result also emphasizes the diverse phenotypes observed in Williams syndrome patients.
