Assist pre op RN with fetal monitoring, IV start, pre,intra,post-op teaching mom. Once in OR assist with placing monitors, positioning patient for spinal, inserting foley and orientation of patient to room and OR staff. After delivery of the baby I now have a patient to care for. Baby dried, stimulated and necessary interventions done. Assess effectiveness of interventions repeat or change as necessary. Baby to mom and dad for bonding ASAP. About 10 minutes before end of surgery dad and baby to PACU nursery, brief report to RN, weight and length obtained entered into computer then return to OR. Assist with moving patient, cleaning and restocking.
