Daily Duties at Indian River Middle School:
12:1:3:1 Grades 6-8 Self- Contained Classroom Resposible for 11 students with a variety of mild to severe disabilities at the middle school level where I provide academic, social and behaviorial instruction that address the four core subject areas plus life skills content. Students present with a wide variety of disabilities including Learning Disabilities, Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD), Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD) and Prader Willi Syndrome. Duties include maintaining goals and objectives for IEP’s, curriculum development and implementation, and addressing Assistive Technology needs of students. I supervise one Teaching Assistant and three Aides assigned to my classroom. In addition, I modify curriculum and tests for two students who are mainstreamed in regular education classes. I collaborate with parents, Teaching Aides and Teaching Assistants on a daily basis. I provide modified student assignments per individualized needs addressed in respective IEP documentation.
