Daily Duties at Tennessee State Bank:
I was recruited and hired by TSB to be a commercial lender and also to serve as a member of their senior credit committee. I was responsible for originating, underwriting, and managing a loan portfolio comprised of complicated commercial transactions, residential, C&I, and consumer loans. As a member of the senior credit committee, I along with 4 other members which included, the president, CLO, CCO, and another SLO were responsible for approving loan requests up to $1mm. It was also my responsibility to help drive loan fees and achieve the banks budgeted interest rate spreads. I managed a loan portfolio of approx. $80mm which was as high as $100mm at one point. This was comprised of about 135 total customer relationships. I also supervised, mentored, and trained 4 junior lenders. I set their goals at each annual review and monitored their productivity throughout the year. Additional responsibilities included being active in the community and projecting a professional bank immage.
