Daily Duties at Smar Therapy:
• Posted daily charges, billed visits and created claims for seven physical and occupational therapist treating upwards of eighty patients a day. • Independently maintained patient accounts and filed electronic claims via Payer Path along with paper claims with copies of documents and medical notes. • Verified with therapist documentation was noted to support the billed services. • Responded to verbal and written customer inquiries regarding account status within policy and procedure timeline. Researched patients’ accounts and documented follow up appropriately. • Detected and communicated insurance payer trends on CPT Service codes. • Appealed denied and/or partially paid claims with proper insurance payers to obtain payments in full. • Remained current on all insurance payers’ changes and updates. • Prepared and allocated all medical records to patients, payers, and attorneys. • Assisted with patient scheduling, answering phones on multi-line system, explanation and verification of health benefits and check in/out. • Sorted mail and assisted with ordering office supplies as needed.
