developed and managed 1.5M budget, reviewed weekly budget reports, payment denials, length of stay reports, any customer complaints, worked with a staff of 55 who were union represented so if there were any issues, I met with the union reps and employees, reported to a VP, worked closely with the billing department, customer service department and training to ensure my staff were adequately trained. Weekly reviewed hotel usage and identified amenities for our guests and met with guests to ensure we were meeting their expectations, met weekly with CFO on payment denials, designed transfer/referral center working with MDs and hospital leaders. The report I designed clearly showed the best MD performers and the MD s who needed assistance. Met with the emergency physican director weekly to ensure our patient registrations were efficient and correct and we met our timeliness of assigned beds for those patients who required admission. Worked closed with the billing department, met weekly to ensure we met the registration requirements and correctly entered the patient insurance; and if we needed prior approvals that they were gotten ahead of time. Consistently made rounds on the nursing units to identify where my departments could help and to facilitate getting patients out of their beds faster so the next patient could be admitted faster. Looked at bed utilization reports and turnaround time to identify if anything what my departments could assist with. Conducted customer service training and new process change training. Met with clinic leaders to ensure patient throughput was meeting their expectations. Designed a pager system so we could page a housekeeper when we knew of an admission. We started out with 12 hotel room and I grew that to 16 based on utilization of those rooms and not having to turn patients away because we were full. Met with HR on hiring and discipline in conjunction with the union representatives.; I had 2 managers reporting to me and 4 supervisors; responsible for 60 employees that worked 24/7; I had 24/7 on-call responsibility. Worked with Nursing leadership during nursing strikes and closing nursing units and re-routing patients worked with the CEO to identify insurance companies to target in an effort to gt better reimbursement. I negotiated rated and "carve out" services that couldn't be provided in the area with insurance companies responsible to decrease costs per day from insurance companies based on contrated rates and our throughput. Increased our hotel utilization by 50% in the first 3 months resulting in adding 4 additonal hotel rooms. Designed and managed a 24/7 customer service center increasing patient referrals by 25% in the first month and 35% each month the first year. Re-engineered and redesigned the admitting department to establish accountability, increase productivity and improve customer service through extensive job analysis, training and evaluation.
