Daily Duties at Canfield Scientific Inc.:

Prepared internal Image Analysis Applications guidelines, user manuals and training guides. Executed Image Analysis Applications for clinical trials. Trained technicians on clinical Image Analysis Applications. Conducted clinical Image Analysis Application development testing. Trained customers on Image Pro Plus computer software. Drafted proposals and prepared PowerPoint presentations for customers. Canfield Scientific was a company that created software applications for Image Pro Plus users. Microscopic slide images were scanned into a computer and then the software; Image Pro Plus and Photoshop would extract or measure specific details from that image. Then store that information in either Excel or Word or some other format that was asked for by customers. I had the responsibility to work with customers to see what type of applications they wanted the software to measure or extract. I would then sit with the programmer who was my boss and explained what the customer wanted. My boss would write the applications and I would then make sure the applications worked properly. I would try to crash the computer systems by pushing wrong buttons and see what would happen. Once the application was working properly I would then create training manuals with a descriptive explanation of the application and then go back and train the customer to use the software and their specific applications. We were trying to maintain the application as close to the GLP regulations as possible. The company was less than 100 people and I was originally hired to establish a Histology lab in house to try and let customers know that we could do the lab work for them. The lab was never set up and the company then wanted me to move over to sales of their Visio product line, which I did not want to do. I was laid off when they told me that since I was hired to establish a Histology lab and the company was no longer moving in that direction.
