Daily Duties at Black & Veatch Corporation:

Be the lead design engineer with the assistance of one control technician to develop Microsoft Access database equipment list formats for a client who did not have equipment lists. The formats needed to be acceptable to equipment vendors for bidding replacement equipment, and to the client's maintenance personnel for equipment records. To determine the clients needs for the lists, I visited the client's plant, reviewed his current records and capabilities, and determined that the client's existing programs could interface with Access. I then prepared an estimate of the cost to develop equipment lists using Access. The Project manager used the estimate to develop a proposal. The client accepted the proposal and I, with the assistance of a control technician knowledgeable in Access programming, developed the lists. I first developed format definitions for the control technician and then supervised his programming work. When the formats were completed, they were downloaded to a 3-1/2 inch floppy disc and transmitted to the client.
