Daily Duties at Fed Ex Home Delivery:
As the P&D Operations Manager I had been responsible for managing the pick & delivery (P&D) operations through the management of staff and achieving results indirectly through the use of Independent Contractors (IC), Independent Service Providers (ISP), temporary agencies and their employees. Work close with customer service, sales, Customer Pickup Coordination and station management to ensure successful customer results. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control day-to-day operations of the P&D department Forecast staffing needs, package volume, potential logistical issues and budget Manage the station’s sort operations, route planning and overall facility logistics Manage company’s contractual relationships with ICs and ISPs, including conducting and documenting business discussions, conduct forums and ensure the company’s compliance with the applicable agreement. Advise senior management on decisions to initiate or terminate operating agreements. Manage and ensure DOT and OSHA requirement and compliance for the entire facility Conduct internal audits regarding service quality, facility financials, contractor relations, safety compliance, customer service and other markers. Create actions plans and oversee implementation Crisis Team Management: troubleshoot and provide logistical situations to operations in different parts of the country (natural disasters and team management short falls) Monitor and evaluate productivity standards for pickup and delivery service at the facility Implement the FedEx SAFE Driver Program to all new approved driver candidates •Promote and implement safety culture in every aspect of the operation Evaluate staff performance and productivity, hire, train and terminate as required
