Daily Duties at Words To Web, Inc.:
Web design for a wide range of clients, including small businesses, creative individuals, and non-profits for many purposes, including brochure, portal, video streaming, photo-gallery, and blog sites. The work entails such tasks as: Setting up domains with registrars Hosting services Implementing Joomla! content management system and other Open Source CMS solutions Installing and customizing templates and modular add-ons such as photo galleries, streaming video, Flash slideshows, email newsletters, storefronts, donation and subscription systems, and security systems; modifying PHP, HTML, and CSS files Content strategizing, including editing or writing new materials. Content includes video, text, images, Flash multimedia, and other objects Implementing web 2.0 social networking functions such as those in Ning, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogger, WordPress, and Live Journal Installing and configuring interactive features such as chat rooms, forums, social groups with personal profiles, and commenting Database (MySQL) maintenance, backups and restore management Creating interactive graphics including banner ads Ensuring that the site is Search Engine Optimized. I also offer full turnkey services from domain registration, web hosting; the designing, wire framing, installing, editing, and creating of "classic" websites and their supporting multimedia products using Adobe Dreamweaver and Fireworks along with Adobe Photoshop. Every site entailed hand-coding HTML and CSS to enhance the efficiency of the site and its compliance with W3C standards.
