A.M. Haire Work Values

Daily Duties at A.M. Haire:

I had to first concentrate on the A and B commodities.These commodities dealt with high volumes of Aluminum/galvanize/stainless steel/galvaneel/roll form processing/ all types of steel channel, angles and extruded aluminum parts with very close tolerances. Learn their usages/Vendor information/payment terms and buying patterns according to production usages. Managing 10 to 12 Team members.I reported to the owner of the Company. My responsibilities are Materials Management, Aftermarket Part Sales,Inventory Control, and two other buyers. Time management for myself and staff was critical. Active listening and critical thinking was a active part of my day for trouble shooting purchasing issues, Unpaid vendors/defective parts on production line/receiving bad oral information due to systems in inventory control. Planned and coordinated the work of the buyers. Supervised contracts and negotiating of all National and International contracts. Analyzed all price proposals and finance reports to determine fair market value for all materials purchased. Maintained records and reviewed items bought, cost, delivery cost with technical information being put in place for Engineering.Controlled inventories through the MRP system. Evaluated Suppliers/travel to visit them all for new price reduction through quantitative buying/proper packaging that was suitable for our production line stocking system. Hands on relationship with System Administrator/Operations Manager/Chief Engineer/Comptroller for Expense budgets and allocation of funds for quarterly purchases based on back log of orders from the Sales Department. Hired a intern sales associate to evaluate all Sales backlog for future truck production which kept Purchasing 3 weeks ahead of the production line. Proof reading all orders and making sure buyers were alert on materials needed in accordance to the established build dates. I worked with the Comptroller and our banks to make sure all international shipments once docked at ports/payment was wired to Vendor for shipments brought into the ports. AM Haire average about 15 million dollars in Sales. Purchasing spends about half of that in materials purchases.
