Daily Duties at A.M. Haire:

I learned from being a Floater which was my first job at Haire every position in the company and how they all was suppose to tie end together to get a finished product. However, their were production stalls (Bottle Necks) everywhere for either lack of training, material shortages, or added work loads to a department because of different needs demanded by the customer. I reported directly to the President and Operations Manager. I worked solo for 4 months. Within the four months/I had Engineering to draw a diagram of the entire production process that I had detailed written out for each movement or event that took place There are 15 Departments on the Production Line. The plant diagram allowed me to us excel to identify the process, manpower, time and labor cost per Production move and specifically point out the pros and cons within the move with issues within the move that needed attention for more efficient usage of manpower. Tooling gigs/Tools/locations of tools needed/square footage and time spent getting parts and preparation cost were enormous with proper training for specific task were quickly documented. Production flow should be rhythmic without any guessing what they should do next in a structured production setting. Each customer order is different which requires each employee to have a different mind set for each customer. This is strictly a mathematical (Size) and type of composite (materials) but using the same process of assembly. Once one department was fully analyzed and document/Engineering came in and corrected each department and they began to study their implementations to assure a smooth process. I proceeded to move forward and we all meet once a day to talk about the processes installed and exactly what I found as the unit moved to the next department. In conclusion to the flow charts that described all the time and movement of each department. Two new departments were implemented and they still stand today. Movements are 1.5 hour moves with the ability to establish one hour moves if demands for production increases. We are current producing 5 units per day. Five days a week.
