Upgraded Lab equipment to be internet accessible increasing corporate wide usage of expensive specialized equipment. Project Management - Managed, scheduled, and directed decommissioning of software and hardware for all laboratories in two physical locations Problem Resolution - Eliminated experiment delays Managed the conversion of lab balances from problematic serial connections dedicated to PC’s to custom Moxa box mini servers with dedicated IP addresses allowing monitoring of any balance from any PC in the company resulting in huge cost savings Analysis - Conducted Analysis of business requirements from scientists for upcoming windows 2000 rollout, and impact regarding millions of dollars in unique lab equipment replacement costs Cost Containment - Responsible for initiating vendor contact, pricing negotiations, research and procurement of new laboratory equipment and software as required by new Win 2000 rollout Process Streamlining - Developed all written requirements, procedures, and documentation for the procurement process for Senior Systems Analyst position in support of Laboratories within department Project Management - Planned and migrated all labs in Upper Merion and Upper Providence locations from software platforms such as NT to Windows 2k and from Turbochrom to Empower and LIMS connectivity. Risk management - All hardware updates had to be researched and figured into these changes to ensure each vendor had hardware able to use the new O/S to mitigate risk and minimize impact to the business Procedural development - Developed training, administration, and user documentation and procedures for mission critical lab experiment data gathering databases Process improvement - Wrote SOP’s for decommissioning and removal of lab hardware where none previously existed Security - Supported and fixed a high security proprietary Lotus Notes application that handled all shipments from the company under short notice, as well as gain entry to custom made databases only 3 days before and audit with no previous experience with the application. Administration - Chaired the global meeting for ENB development attended worldwide by lead and senior scientists to coordinate custom filter software development and maintain consistency among all worldwide developers and users Uncovered sites still using Windows NT, which caused major problems when upgrading the same software in different locations Proposed that Rollout Pilots be used to uncover problems early.
