Daily Duties at U.S. Marines:
Served in a Marine Corps rifle squad in order to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver, and repel the enemy’s assault by fire and close combat. Proficient with the M16A4 & M4 Service Rifles, M9 Service Pistol, M203 Grenade Launcher, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW). Operated in urban combat operations in strategic and tactical response, which denied the enemy control and access to key locations in Iraq. Operated in denying the enemy the capture of key locations that may yield a decisive psychological advantage that would determine the success or failure of the larger conflict in Iraq. Operated in villages and small towns in urban tactics which will often be caught up in the battle because of their proximity to major avenues of approach of main lines of communications that are vital to sustaining ground combat operations in Iraq. Understand the use of rules of engagement (ROE) and the use of proper combat power in more restrictive conditions in the combat environment. Operated in the assault element platoon in OIF-1. Was involved with the Jessica Lynch rescue mission with the U.S. Army Delta Force and the U.S. Marines Force Recon. Was in two Westpac, which were the 11th MEU with the USS Boxer LHD-4 and the 15th MEU with the USS Tarawa LHA-1. Held positions as Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Platoon SGT.
