Daily Duties at The Johns Hopkins Hospital:
Assess eligibility of potential subjects through methods such as screening interviews, reviews of medical records, and discussions with physicians and nurses. Prepare for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups. Identify protocol problems, inform investigators of problems, or assist in problem resolution efforts such as protocol revisions. Obtain informed consent of research subjects or their guardians. Verify the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases, correcting any errors. Prepare tables, graphs, fact sheets, and written reports summarizing research results. Conduct internet-based and library research. Create all necessary source documents required for each protocol accurately and prior to enrolling any patients and keep all protocol binders current and file materials in a timely manner. Assist in developing and editing research proposals and IRB applications, consent forms, annual reports and continuations and maintain other regulatory documents
