Director with complex managerial and administrative components, associated with health care issues and activities that influence the organizational mission of the department, and policy across the whole state with differences in culture, and cultural beliefs, to consider and manage. The position I had projected a substantial sphere of influence across multiple facilities and across the full continuum of care (inpatient, outpatient, hospice). I was involved with Labor Relations and incorporated the principles and practices of performance improvement within the organization. I collaborated with the department’s leaders at all levels to establish education and training for the Maloney Center Training Academy. As director I was an administrative and clinical liaison between the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut Department of Correction. I was the clinical gatekeeper providing placement of clinically impaired inmates within the correctional system. I assisted in the preparation of the health care budget between the CT Department of the Correction and the University of CT and supervised compliance with court mandates.
